Loyalty? You Mean Total Dedication?

I got an email saying I needed to finish registration of a loyalty card to use it on a website.
First they emailed me saying that I need to complete the registration, so I went to the link they provided.
Then they asked me for my card number which I didn't know, because it was issued through a website, which doesn't provide a physical card. so I had to open a few previous emails to find the card number.
Then they told me they're sending me another email with a temporary password. They didn't. They sent me a link with a password box that was already filled in. That was apparently the wrong password.
While I was scanning the email again trying to work out what on earth was going on, it suddenly randomly logged me in anyways.
then they asked me to enter a new password... I chose one, and they said it was too similar to my 'memorable word', so I had to choose some random password, wait for their confirmation email, log back in, change my memorable word, then change my password to something I'll remember... And all that for 22 loyalty points!

3 days and 5 emails... 3 different passwords, four links, three misread questions and two security codes for 11 pence worth of points.
Was it something I did wrong??
